Located two hours from Amarillo and two hours from Midland/Odessa; Lubbock, Texas is the hub of West Texas & has a population of 230,000. Lubbock is also home to Texas Tech & Lubbock Christian University. The Lubbock church was planted in 1999 and faced strong persecution but grew steadily to over 50 faithful Christians. Between 2002 and 2004, many in the church (including leaders) moved away from Lubbock leaving 13 disciples there with no full-time leadership. Roddy and Mary Oaks were asked to lead the congregation beginning in 2004. They worked full-time jobs and led the church on a part-time basis.

lubbockBeginning in 2011, by God's power & grace, the church began to see many coming to Christ. In 2011 the Lubbock Mission Church had 12 baptisms and by the end of 2013, there were 40 disciples in the church. The resurgence has been mostly in the campus ministry. In 2011, there was one campus student in the church; today there are 21 zealous disciples at Texas Tech & one at Lubbock Christian University. It has been amazing to see what God has been doing in Lubbock over the last few years.

In January of 2013, Roddy & Mary moved their family to Dallas/Fort Worth to be trained for the full-time ministry by Mark and Connie Mancini. The plan is for the Oaks to train in DFW for 20 months and to return, with a mission team, to lead the Lubbock Mission Church on a full-time basis. The team will be sent out August of 2014.

We are putting the call out and praying for spiritually mature disciples who are eager to reach the lost and who will move to Lubbock to give their hearts to the city. The campus ministry is exploding, but there are still 230,000 single and married souls in Lubbock who need to hear the gospel and see it really lived out. Lubbock is a city that needs disciples who will be bold and willing to give up their lives to win as many as possible.
