Good News From HOPE worldwide Latin America

Friday, 03 November 2006 13:21
Thank you for your prayers and support of our effort to change the lives of thousands in Latin America.  I am pleased to say there is an exciting opportunity to join us on one or both back-to-back trips to Latin America.

Editor's Note: These reports were recently posted on Christian Ray Flores' HOPE worldwide Latin America blog.  At the bottom, you can read about the upcoming missions trips that you can be a part of.

Laura Bernal - One of Thousands
Mexico City, Mexico

My name is Laura Bernal and I have two small children.  I am a single mother and I clean houses to support my family.  I also take care of my seven-year-old sister and the money I earn does not really stretch to cover all of the expenses that I have.  It has been a relief to be able to count on the HOPE worldwide clinic for all of the help that they offer us; health is one of the most basic necessities.  I am infinitely grateful to HOPE worldwide for taking care of the neediest people.

Quick Fact: HOPE worldwide Mexico has served over 2,700 people like Laura Bernal just in August of 2006.

Changing Lives in Mexico
Pedro Tapia Perez, HWW director.

We are proud to say that we had two medical/dental brigade trips in July: one in the "Los Hornos" community in Iztapaluca, Estado de Mexico, and the other one in the "Comunidad los Patos" community in the municipality of Chimalhuacan, Estado de Mexico.  The brigades served 735 people in one weekend!

Joining the brigades were Javier and Kelly Amaya, long-time supporters of our work from Los Angeles.

The Center of HOPE worldwide in Mexico City, Mexico serves over 54,000 people annually through it???s Clinic, AIDS prevention program, Medical Brigades, Nutritional program and other programs.

Here is a testimony by Luis Espinaza Valla who was treated at our clinic:

"I came to the clinic in bad shape.  The hospitals I went to before told me there was nothing else they could do for me.  They told me the problem was with my lungs.  After the tests they made at the HOPE worldwide Clinic they discovered that it was actually a heart condition.  After several weeks of treatment I feel much better.

I want to thank HOPE worldwide and their professional staff for helping me were others wouldn???t.  I hope we had more clinics that could help people with no means like me."

Good news from HOPE worldwide in Honduras

We now have a new executive director for HWW Honduras - Henry Gomez, a fan and volunteer of HWW for years Henry is joining us with a great vision for the future and many plans to serve as many as possible in his beloved country.

One of the first victories in San Pedro Sula was the reopening in July of our Clinic after successful fundraising efforts and generous donations from our friends.

The clinic not only treats 700 patients a month but also hosts medical and relief brigades from overseas bringing clothing and shoes, and distributing free glasses.

The latest brigade mobilized 56 volunteers and served over 400 people in one day.

Friends of HWW Latin America,

Thank you for your prayers and support of our effort to change the lives of thousands in Latin America.  I am pleased to say there is an exciting opportunity to join us on one or both back-to-back trips to Latin America.  We plan to fellowship with Christians in the local churches, serve the poor in centers of HOPE worldwide and even do a little tourism, enjoying the rich culture.

I will be sending out details about those trips in the next day or two.  Here are the dates:

November 30 - December 3rd: Mexico City, Mexico
December 7th-10th: Guatemala City, Guatemala

Sincerely,

Christian Ray Flores
