The HOPE worldwide Reno Chapter held their 2nd Annual “One Warm Coat Drive” in September and October 2010. There was 950 children and young mothers in need who received a warm coat at the event.

Along with our volunteers, we want to thank the more than 25 participating organizations including; the Northern Nevada Chapter of the American Red Cross and the Food Bank of Northern Nevada, plus the schools and corporations that helped make this drive a success.
Together, we were able to donate more than 950 coats to several organizations in the Reno/Sparks area. The charities that benefited were: The Homeless Shelters operated by Volunteers of America, Casa da Vida (home for young mothers) and the Washoe County and Carson City Kids in Transition Programs, a program for school-age children in transitional housing situations.
Additionally, gloves, scarves, hats and new socks were also donated. We are so grateful for this tremendous overwhelming response. The agencies that received the coats were also very appreciative.
In 2011, our goal is to exceed 1,000 coats!
