SURGE Missions Update and Video for Europe Trip Featured

I wanted to share great news about SURGE (Singles United Representing God EVERYWHERE!)  

  1. A single sister, Kim Bonner, has offered to spearhead the initiative in Africa. Kim spent 2012 in Tanzania and 2013 in Geneva, Switzerland as one year challenges. She has many contacts of many church leaders in the smaller churches of Africa (where I think SURGE can be of most help).  She has a big heart for the African disciples! 
  2. A brother, Bob Mitchell (formerly missionary and ministry), has introduced the SURGE initiative to both the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors of the Florida Missions Council. They were very enthusiastic about the prospect to include South America. They also extended to me an invitation to present the idea directly to the Mission Leaders in Miami for the Florida School of Missions in January!
  3. The SURGE Euro Trip is still open to people who'd like to participate! Please share or forward the flyer below. You can also inform singles that they could consider using their vacation times for trips to South America and Africa! God is going to powerfully use our visit to the churches in Prague, Zurich and Munich!

We will strengthen and encourage the disciples. We will also offer salvation and eternal hope to lost souls in the three cities!

Travel Instructions:

  • Each person will book/purchase their own flights to Prague (arriving on 6/26/15) and departing from Munich (7/6 or 7/7).
  • Each person will book/purchase their own flight from Prague to Zurich on 6/30/15. (Currently only $75.00 on !) Purchase flight 4U9773 June 30th. Depart PRG 9:00 AM (Arrive Zurich 2:40 PM) 
  • We will travel by train Zurich to Munich (approximately $100)
  • We will stay in hotels in Prague. Currently a two-person hotel room (4 stars on Hotwire) costs $75/night.
  • We will attempt to stay with disciples in Zurich and Munich!

  • Prague, June 26th - June 30th
  • Zurich, June 30th  - July 3rd
  • Munich, July 3rd - July 6th/7th 

The first night in each city we meet with the church. Then we set up times for coffee, hang-outs, meals, etc. with the disciples for the following days. We use one day to evangelize and invite people to a local Bible study or church service. We usually meet a second time with the whole church before the day before we leave. We will organize a serving opportunity (of the poor and needy) in Prague. We will take different excursions from Munich on July 6th for those who can stay that extra day. 

Come encourage the saints, advance the gospel, be refreshed, inspired and encouraged as you enjoy the culture and beauty of these three incredible cities.
