1979 - 2009 Rejoice!

C E L E B R A T E 30 Years

God has blessed many of us in countless ways through these 30 years.

The Boston Church celebrated this milestone and is planning another party!

In June, the Boston church had the first of a couple official celebrations for their 30th anniversary. With a birthday cake contest, a New England wide Olympics and a huge multi-congregational Sunday Worship, praise and thanks went up to God! All because we have been privileged to enjoy the Lord's grace and guidance for these past three decades. All the cakes had a world globe and a Bible frosted on them without any direction given at all except "make a birthday cake" and enter the contest!

Three brothers were appointed elders in Boston that day too. Their physical families stood proudly at the pulpit with them while their spiritual family looked on with joy, admiring their example and service. All of them were members of the Boston church since the "early days" including Mark Ayasse. Mark was actually the 6th person baptized in 1979 when the church started its focussed outreach around June 1st that year. John McGuirk and Mark Schnell were also appointed elders that day too.

Douglas Arthur shared a poignant lesson spanning the 30 years covered by book of Acts. Doug showed the many times the first century church had growing pains, leadership struggles, sharp disputes and controversial issues to righteously wrestle over. And yet, the grace of God continued to "reach more and more people causing thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God." II Corinthians 4:15 Listen to this great sermon here.

The next big party to celebrate Boston's 30th Birthday will be in August at the 2009 New England Christian Conference in the Providence Convention center... It is entitled R E J O I C E ! "Restoration Reunion Revival". Feel free in Christ to fly on in and join the party! It is being held at the same time and location as the International Worship Leaders Conference.

Here is a short video by Vanessa Embling that was shown at the first celebration in June...

Incidentally, my spiritual rebirthday was May 28, 1980 in the Boston Church, and by God's grace I am a grateful worshipper to this day! I truly enjoyed the first party and can't wait for the next one in August!
