OYC: Daniel's Experience

Tuesday, 30 May 2017 08:51

OYCSanAnCouple1This week we celebrate the arrival of an entire family of four at one of our OYC sites! These parents of two young children were baptized in the teens and campus ministries of the Mission Point Christian Church in San Antonio, which has sent many disciples to church plantings locally and around the world. We are encouraged by their faith!

Considering the One Year Challenge? Don't worry about being a spiritual superstar or super talented in ministry. Just go!

In this week's episode of The OYC Guys, Daniel shares how God used him—and is still using him—on his OYC despite his weaknesses and struggles.

New content this week on the One Year Challenge blog:

  • Who Do We Need To Bring the Gospel To? In sharing the Gospel with all peoples, who should take priority? There are many who have heard the Gospel in some form, while others who have not heard at all.
  • The Mission Doesn't Stop at the Reached The term used today to define whether the Gospel has been preached in a specific area of the world is called “reached” and “unreached.” Still, the question remains, does the Great Commission finish at “go” or “teach them to obey everything he has commanded”?
  • Great Missionary Lives: Ramon Llull Read about one of the foremost missionaries to the Muslims. Ramon is an example to us of a real flesh-and-blood scholar: someone who was actively engaged with the hardwork of day to day ministry, while also maintaining a great capacity to ponder the wonders of God.
  • Great Images: World Map of "Convinced Atheists" There are many parts of the world that still do not believe God and do not give Him glory as they should.
  • What We're Reading Today This week's featured excerpt for disciples considering an OYC is taken from Andrew Murray's deeply devotional classic, The Inner Life.
  • Monday Music: Songs from OYC Sites around the World Every week we'll share some music in languages from around the world. This week’s Monday Music is a German cover of the popular song, 10,000 Reasons.
