Editor's note: The lead evangelist of the Phoenix Church of Christ shares how their church is benefitting from showing and discussing the Disciples Today production: Visions and Dreams to various groups in their church from teens to older adults. Many churches, house churches, teen and campus ministries are using this video to kick off 2011.

After watching the video, I was left with a realistic perspective of where we’ve been as a movement, an awareness of where we are now, and an inspired vision for where we are going. I decided to show Visions and Dreams to the ministry staff here in Phoenix. That particular week at staff meeting – our four campus interns, still on school break – were in attendance. Because they are young, some did not have much of an understanding of the history of our movement, so they were grateful for the perspective that the video provided.
I then decided to show the video at our congregational Family Group Leader’s workshop. After, we had a time of sharing which provided many a chance to share re-awoken memories of the great things God had done in our past, and how he is not done with us.
Now we are in the process of showing it to the entire church at various midweek services, and each time we are giving people a chance to respond. Many are expressing appreciation for a better understanding our roots and the bigger picture of what they are a part of. For all of us, it has been a chance to get some healthy perspective as we move forward into 2011. To God be the glory!
