An Announcement From HOPE worldwide's CEO

Wednesday, 11 February 2015 10:40

Randy JordanDear friends of HOPE worldwide,

In 1991 our fellowship of churches, under the leadership of Bob and Pat Gempel, founded HOPE worldwide. This organization was created in response to the example of Jesus’ ministry of compassion to help the poor and needy. In 2008 the baton of leadership was passed to me as I assumed the office of Chief Executive Officer of HOPE worldwide following 12 years of serving in the roles of both General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer.

Since its humble beginnings in partnership with the International Churches of Christ, HOPE worldwide has seen God move powerfully. More than 20 years ago, we established the Village of HOPE which provides homes and care for lepers in Delhi, India. In 1996, we began our work in Cambodia through the Sihanouk Hospital Center of HOPE, providing free quality health care to those who had none. As we continued to grow, we added a second hospital in Cambodia as well as scores of programs throughout the years in countries with populations in great need. Our work within the United States has also expanded to more than 100 Chapters throughout the country.

It is a joy and honor to be part of such a wonderful organization. In my role as CEO, I have the opportunity to travel throughout the world to see firsthand the powerful impact that HOPE worldwide has on so many people in need. It is a humbling experience to witness the healing power of God working through his people and to witness the gratitude of those who are served.

I wish to personally express my deepest gratitude and thanks to the many who have given so much to make this all possible. I am indebted to the staff of HOPE worldwide that serves with high standards of ethics and professionalism for the benefit of our charity. I am especially grateful for our donors who have given faithfully and sacrificially to make our work possible. The men and women who have served on our Board of Directors with wisdom and integrity through the years have been a great source of strength and support. And, of course our work would not be possible without the tens of thousands of volunteers who work with such joy to fulfill God’s call to help others in need. Lastly, I am everlastingly grateful for my loving wife, Jan, and our children who have faithfully stood with us as we have committed our lives to serving the poor through HOPE worldwide for the last 19 years.

It is with a grateful heart and much prayer that I realize that it is now time to pass the baton of leadership on to another who can continue to build on the foundation that has been firmly established. I believe it is in the best interest of HOPE worldwide and for my family to begin this transition. Be assured that I will remain in this position until the choice of my successor becomes clear.

The Board of Directors has established a search committee which has the responsibility of identifying the qualifications and experience necessary to fill this role and their work has already begun. (HOPE worldwide Board Announces CEO Position)

The opportunity to serve the poor through HOPE worldwide is one of the greatest privileges of my life. Please join me in praying for God’s inspiration to guide this transition and all involved.

God bless,

Randy
