December 27, 2013 -- From Indonesia and American Samoa to Hurricanes Sandy, Isaac and Ike, Hawaii Kai resident Candy Iha has seen firsthand the relief efforts in the wake of disaster.
"It looked like a war zone. Everything was devastated. I would say 98 percent of the island is devastated," Iha said. "We went into these little villages and tried to find kids who weren't getting services. Every day I did first aid. But most of all, the children needed love, laughter and a warm smile."
HOPE worldwide is grateful for the many volunteers, like Candy, and our supporters who are making a difference for the survivors of Typhoon Haiyan.
