Central New Jersey Chapter - It’s amazing the toll Hurricane Sandy has taken on the residents of New Jersey. We are getting swamped with calls for housing, transportation, food and other needs. Many face challenges they never envisioned.
Now at Christmas time, providing gifts for the children and giving hope to the community is so important. The Central Jersey Chapter of HOPE worldwide learned that 125 children are staying at the YMCA in Newark. We were asked if we could help. It seemed that these children were not going to have anything for Christmas. The Chapter collected $1,600 plus clothes in just one week. Next week the children’s faces will light up because of the generosity of others.
The Chapter also just learned that school children needed clothes in Ocean and MonmouthCounty. We are starting a second drive for supplies to meet these additional needs.
