On Sunday June 18, 2017 disciples in Zurich are presenting a charity gala in Zurich, Switzerland in support of HOPE worldwide's Helping Hand-Ukraine. Anya and Dimitry Khamzin, disciples from the International Church of Christ in Zurich and soloists at the Opera House Zurich will be performing alongside other performers. This production will feature highlights from classical ballet and music. In addition to the main program from the ballet and music world, the event will include an art exhibition of painters from the church in Zürich and a festive reception before and after the performance.
This is a great chance to support traumatized children in the Ukraine through HOPE worldwide while enjoying an elegant gala evening!
Additionally, you will encourage the brothers and sisters in Zurich who are donating their performing arts skills for this charity effort! For single disciples, there may be a singles weekend taking place at the same time with opportunities to contribute to this event as volunteers (to be confirmed later on).

About Helping Hand – HOPE worldwide Ukraine
Professionals from Norway and Great Britain have developed therapy sessions on "Children and War Teaching Recovery Techniques." These have been translated and adapted by experts from the Ukrainian Institute of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (Lviv, Ukraine). The programs help to prevent the development of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms and depression in children who witnessed and survived war and they lessen the need for professional psychological treatment in the future.
About the Gala
In May 2013, the Ensemble u l t r a S c h a l l, a group that I direct, took part in the Easter Festival "Lord - by thy Strength," performing Brahms' German Requiem in "Tchaikovsky Hall" of the National Music Academy in Kiev. Unfortunately, due to the armed conflict in 2014, the valuable collaboration could not be continued. The sudden interruption with our Ukrainian partners made us aware of the serious repercussions that the military actions had on children and their parents.
While visiting the International Church of Christ in Oslo, I became acquainted with the great work of HOPE worldwide-Ukraine and was deeply moved to do something.
Things came together in 2015, when Dmitry and Anya, members in the Moscow church moved to Zürich! I collaborated with other disciples and friends from the slavic society in Zürich to try help the Ukrainian members by organizing this music and dance gala.
