Cruise FAQ information

Who will be on this cruise? Our experience is that single and married disciples from numerous countries love taking their vacations with other disciples. Some bring family members and or friends. We see people of all ages and will have activities for singles and marrieds while sharing in some devotionals for everyone. Everyone has a lot of free time. Your excursions off the ship are up to you.

Will we be able to meet with disciples in the ports where the ship docks? When we can we will arrange excursions that include fellowship with our church in that location.

Can I register for this group directly through the cruiseline? No. The only way to register for this group on the ship is to register through our DT Travel Coordinator, Sally Hooper (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.). Sally will work with you personally to send you a registration form and finalize your reservation.

What is the purpose of the Disciples Today Organizational Fee? The DToday organizational fee covers the costs to plan, organize, publicize, teach and direct this group event just as in other seminars, conferences, etc. that involve organizing groups of people for a major event.

How much should I plan for the entire cost?

  • Your cruise registration covers your stateroom including:
    • Housing for 12 nights

Flights:

  • You will make your own flight arrangements from your home city.
  • The cruise line will offer flights for a reasonable cost on their website after you have booked your cruise though Sally.

Arriving at depature city:

It is recommended that you arrive at least a day early to avoid flight delays. You will be able to board the ship the morning of the day of sailing and porters will take your luggage to your room. You must be onboard at least 90 minutes prior to sailing or your stateroom will be canceled. Allow at least five hours after the ship docks for return flights.

Travel folder: Start a travel folder with cruise, hotel, and flight information.

  • Registration: The only place you can register for our group is on DT Travel.
  • Once Sally reserves your stateroom with our group, she will send you a confirmation number that you can use to log into the cruise line website in order to give them your information for security purposes.

Correct Information: If you have found any wrong information (name, etc.) when you checked in online at the cruise lines, please let Sally know. It is vital that your first and last name match your passport as well as the cruise line website. Please read all of the pertinent information on the cruise line website that pertains to your trip, what to pack, weather, money, gratuities, etc.

Shore excursions: Register for shore excursions. You can still register on the ship, but some of the more popular excursions could sell out.

Travel insurance: Sally will help you to purchase this valuable insurance. Without this insurance, you would lose all of your money paid for the cruise if you were not able to go. Also, insurance covers medical emergencies out of the country. Both passengers in the stateroom must purchase the insurance for it to be effective.

Special needs: Please let Sally know if you have special needs that the cruiseline would need to be aware of. Please read the cruise line’s rules on pregnancy and infant travel.

Important Documents - Make copies of all important documents to be kept in a separate place in case your original documents are lost or stolen on the trip. YOU MUST HAVE YOUR ORIGINAL PASSPORT WITH YOU!

(Except for Hawaii if U.S. citizen.)

Size/weight of bags. - Check with your airline about the size and number of bags that you can take with you. Remember that it is important to keep your bags within the airline’s weight restrictions.

Money onboard ship: Onboard the ship is cashless. Your room card is your charge card as well as the card you will use as you enter and exit the ship.

Maid service: You will have twice-a-day maid service as well as waiters, etc. who will wait on you all week. Gratuities can be paid at the end of the cruise.

Meals/drinks: All of your meals in the many main restaurants are included in the cruise price. Specialty restaurants, specialty coffees, alcohol, soft drinks, gift shop items, spa treatments, etc. are extra.

Ship Newspaper: You will have a ship “newspaper” delivered to your stateroom each evening that will inform you of the next day’s ship activities.

Singles: If for some reason you need to cancel, please find a replacement for yourself. The cruise line sells staterooms based on two passengers per stateroom. You will be liable for your portion if you cancel.

Dinner onboard: The whole group will be meeting for dinner together each evening (except for Hawaii).

Electronic tickets: Your cruise documents will be sent to you electronically approximately one month before the cruise. Please make sure that Sally has your correct e-mail address. Pregnancy: Guests who have entered their 24th week of pregnancy by the beginning or at any time during the cruise may not board the ship. Small children: Please check with Sally if you want to bring an infant or small child on the cruise.
