Toolbox of Spiritual Resources from Singapore

Friday, 22 April 2011 03:20

God has used John and Karen Louis to plant and build amazing churches in Asia and Australia. Over the years they have developed a series of invaluable lessons into a spiritual Toolbox that contains a wide variety of resources with the aim of providing disciples a structured approach to building their faith, maturity and knowledge. All of this material is free at the Central Christian Church of Singapore website.

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. (2 Timothy 2:15)

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge;
6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins. (2 Peter 1:5-9)

Paul admonished Timothy to be able to handle God's word correctly, and Peter urged his audience to make sure they were always growing and maturing. Bible-believing Christians feel that the Scriptures equip us to deal with every situation, much like a workman relies on having a well-stocked toolbox. Perhaps some of us have been a “one-tool-workman”, relying too much on one tool (such as always using a hammer to get our point across, or a sander to smooth things over) to solve all of our problems rather than taking a balanced look at all of the tools available to us. Let's become better at developing various tools (like this well-equipped workshop), to prepare us for all good works.

This spiritual Toolbox contains a wide variety of resources with the aim of providing disciples a structured approach to building their faith, maturity and knowledge. To make it easier to find what you need, the content is separated into three levels: basic / intermediate / advanced, tailored to fit specific ministries. (Click on the desired Toolbox in the margin on the left of our page to look at our suggested groupings.)

Alternatively, in addition to those categories, our material is also divided topically into Biblical Teaching; Ministry Nuts & Bolts; and Self-Awareness & Relationship Issues. A healthy balance must be achieved whenever we discuss growing, and growth in all three areas is needed if we are to walk in the path of maturity. This material is our attempt to achieve this balance. (Topics falling into more than one category may be listed in several places.)

Apart from 'Guard the Gospel', 'Old Testament Overview' and 'Positive Choice', all of the material found in the Toolbox was developed by John and Karen Louis for the Central Christian Church, Singapore.
