Congratulations to Gator Blue (a.k.a. The Company) from the Gainesville Christian Church for winning this year’s Playmaker’s Bowl flag football tournament! Some highlights:
• 20 teams from all over the southeastern United States competed this year!
• 600 people at our outdoor service, potluck, and playoffs on Sunday!
• Lots of “God stories!” like:
• Non-member players totally blown away by amazing athletes who are hard core disciples of Jesus, picking them up off the ground after a play and praying together in the middle of the field after the games, no matter who wins or loses.
• Non-member parents who came to watch their kids play and told us how happy they are that their kids have found this great group of friends.
• Many who have left the church that came back for the football, stayed for the fellowship, and were moved by the church service!
• Disciples from different churches making and renewing great friendships and building precious memories for a lifetime!
• Single brothers and sisters from different churches getting to know each other in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere!
• A bounce house and face-painting for the kids!
• And so much more!
We in the Tampa Bay Church are very grateful for God’s gracious blessings on this growing event every year, and we can’t wait to see what God does next year!
